I'm Diego Parra, a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, building a career at the intersection of video and live entertainment. My work splits between two things I care about equally: telling stories through the camera, and shaping the way a room feels through light.
On the video side, I shoot and edit for live events and broadcast. I currently work game day broadcasts for the Knoxville Smokies, covering everything from camera operation to the pieces that make a live production run such as graphics and replay operation. That work I've done has shaped how I think about pacing, coverage, and getting a shot that actually serves the story instead of just filling time.
On the lighting side, I design and program in both grandMA3 and ETC EOS, building looks for musicals, concerts, and live shows where the lighting tells a story.
Both disciplines come from the same instinct: figure out what a specific moment needs, then build the technical setup to deliver it. I'm based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and I'm always looking for projects I can be passionate about.
